SAS Institute presents Breakout Solutions with Quality Partner Programme Award

SAS Institute Scotland today awarded Glasgow based consultancy firm Breakout Solutions with a Quality Partner award. Breakout Solutions has been working in partnership with Standard Life Bank for 14 months on various projects including the development of a management information system.

The SAS Institute Quality Partner Programme is designed to provide support and assistance to third-party organisations whose primary business is providing consultancy services using SAS software. SAS Institute currently has a carefully selected network of 250 consultancy firms worldwide in its Quality Partner Programme working to deliver the best business intelligence solution to its customers.

John Nicoll, sales manager, SAS Institute Scotland said, "Breakout Solutions is a specialist software development consultancy. Work carried out on the Standard Life Bank project has proved that Breakout Solutions is a leader in providing SAS Software support and developing decision support systems."

To be eligible for the Programme, consultancy companies must provide customer references, demonstrate strong SAS programming skills and obtain sponsorship by an appropriate SAS Institute employee. In addition they must meet the Programme's training requirements.

John Nicoll added, "Breakout Solutions utilised the vast power of SAS software to develop the management information system in only twenty weeks. The technology provides Standard Life Bank with management reporting tools that enable executives, business managers and analysts alike to track the source of a customer's business, examine the types of transactions taking place and analyse and predict customer trends."

Breakout Solutions was founded in December 1997 by 3 co-directors, Stephen McCrory, Arthur Quinn and Grant MacIntyre. One of the first projects the company worked on was a contract in partnership with SAS Institute. Building on the experience of the founders, the company has, in the space of a year, also gone on to create a mortgage application process for Standard Life Bank that will provide mortgage seekers with a "yes" or "no" answer in the shortest possible time.

Stephen McCrory, co-director, Breakout Solutions said, "We are delighted to be part of the Quality Partner Programme. The Standard Life Bank project had been very successful and proves the value of the Quality Partner initiative. In the last 18 months, Breakout Solutions has grown beyond all expectations. We are currently on target to raise our turnover from 270K last year to 500K this year and look forward to working with SAS Institute in the future."
